CRINGLETIE HOUSE HOTEL, PEEBLES The Cringletie House Hotel, with a history dating back 500 years, has today been fully restored and renovated while keeping the old features and character of the place alive. The present building was designed by famous Scottish architect David Bryce and sports characteristic towers and turrets that are typical of his designs. Inside, the hotel is royally decorated with panelled walls and frescoed ceilings, chandeliers, antique furniture and the floors are lined with rich carpets and polished wood. In the summer the house and grounds make the perfect summer retreat, a place to go walking and explore the natural surrounds. In winter, the house and gardens are transformed by perfect white snow, to a Scottish winter wonderland: curl up by the open fire with good company and enjoy a malt whiskey.
